Death and decay are servants of life
Article Abstract:
There are two aspects to death, the cessation of consciousness and the decay of the body into its component parts, the combined result of both processes being as if the person had never been born. This is, of course, only from the point of view of the person who dies. The people who remain mourn and experience grief. We can then only experience the death of others. We cannot experience our own death, only our own dying. Most people would not wish to live forever, but often death comes too soon. Death is neither good nor bad, but dying can be either, good if the person is suffering incurable pain and bad if it cuts short opportunities and hope.

So where is everybody else living?
Article Abstract:
One of the most significant projects currently being undertaken by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration is the 'Origins' programme, designed to investigate the origin of stars, of planets, of life and of the whole Universe. If it can be established that there is life elsewhere in the solar system, then it would be possible to infer that life commonly arose on planets around other stars and that there is life within the whole galaxy. Even if life is currently unique to the Earth, there is time for it to spread throughout the whole galaxy and even beyond.
