Article Abstract:
Progressive education began to emerge as a clear educational approach in the UK in the 1960s, but its roots were actually in the mid-18th century. It has become very common for people to blame modern teaching methods for the apparent decline in educational standards, and young teachers now seem to be returning to more traditional teaching methods.
