Singer Dorothy Squires began her career singing in night clubs in London, England. She was spotted by leading pianist Charlie Kunz, who booked her to sing with his own dance band. She teamed up with piano accordion player Billy Reid in the mid-1930s, and their partnership lasted around 15 years. They began to make records from 1945, with one of their biggest hits being 'Gypsy,' their first record. Her career really took off in 1952, the year in which she met Roger Moore, whom she married.

Eve Boswell

Singer Eve Boswell studied classical piano at Lausanne Academy before forming a stage act with her parents. She went to South Africa during the second world war, but after the war began performing in the UK. She launched her solo career in 1952 with her husband as her manager. She first came to public attention supporting comedian Derek Roy in a variety tour of the radio series 'Happy Go Lucky.' Her first real hit was with 'Sugar Bush' in Aug 1952.

Frankie Vaughan

Singer Frankie Vaughan gained a scholarship to the Lancaster College of Art and a place at Leeds University, England. He served in the RAMC during the second world war, and in 1949 enrolled at Leeds College of Art as a student teacher. He came to the attention of show business agent Billy Marsh, and began to tour variety halls. He began making records in 1950, and also sang on film soundtracks. He made his first appearance on television in 1952.
