Drawn from real life
Article Abstract:
Channel 4 is shortly to begin showing the cartoon series 'King of the Hill,' which has been devised by US cartoonist Mike Judge, creator of the extremely popular 'Beavis and Butt-head,' and Greg Daniels, former co-writer of 'The Simpsons.' The new series has already become extremely popular in the US, where many viewers feel that it is more realistic than most live-action comedies. Judge and Daniels believe that animation frees them from many of the restrictions which could limit their creative development.

Fine young cannibals
Article Abstract:
Novelist Kevin Sampson believes that 'Powder,' his second novel, should not be regarded as literature. He emphasizes that this novel is self-consciously pulpy and disposable, as he regards this approach as being closest to the ephemeral nature of fame. He indicates that many of the novel's characters are composites of a number of different people, while a lot of them are completely fictional. He feels that the novel is successful in capturing the spirit of being in a rock band.
