Everybody needs good 'face time.' (computers bring people together)(Network)
Article Abstract:
The new digital media economy is creating thriving agglomerations in urban areas with considerable charm and sophistication. This goes against earlier predictions that computer technology would be very widely scattered, with people working alone in remote locations. Urban planners in the UK are now keen to create a creative environment in which users of new technology can come together and collaborate with other cultural workers. In Liverpool, England, for example, plans for a 15,000 sq ft Media Factory have been approved.

Nepotism? Don't even think about it
Article Abstract:
Steve Anderson, controller of news and current affairs at ITV, believes that his brother Jeff will be very successful in his new position as editor of 'World in Action.' However, he would still be prepared to drop 'World in Action' if it was not sufficiently popular with viewers. He is strongly aware that ITV must meet very strict ratings targets if it is to ensure that it has the confidence of advertisers. Both brothers have taken care to remain in touch with ITV's core audience.
