Fast train to a shopping spree
Article Abstract:
Retail outlets are now becoming increasingly common at train stations in the UK. Some stations are also creating restaurants, following the example of stations in countries such as France, and some have services such as dry cleaning and hairdressing. Railtrack is now keen for stations to become shopping destinations in their own right, and rejects arguments that retail outlets are being created simply to take passengers' minds off late and cancelled trains.
