Finding a real job for Bobby
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that crime levels are not reduced by having police officers out on the streets. This is because no police force can ever be large enough to provide the extensive presence which would be necessary to really have an impact on crime. Furthermore, it is unlikely that police officers walking the streets will ever come across crime actually being committed. Police officers on the beat play a much more significant social role, making people feel safe.
