Five killed as Arafat hunts down militants

Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat is responding to pressure to take action against Islamic militancy. A gun battle between Hamas militants and Arafat's security troops led to five Palestinians being killed in the Gaza Strip. There are indications that a split may be emerging between more pragmatic figures in Hamas and the organization's hardliners.
