Article Abstract:
Unemployment is falling in France, and economic growth has risen. The rate of unemployment, at 11.2% is still high, but job creation is faster than for any other developed econmy. The coalition government is threatened by pressure from the Greens for another Cabinet seat. Employment minister, Martine Aubry, argues that her job creation measures and reduction of working hours have led to lower unemployment, but economic recovery had already begun when the new government took over.

Kurds throw Saddam's grand plan into disarray
Article Abstract:
Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani recently turned against the west, forging an alliance with Saddam Hussein in order to defeat his Kurdish rivals. However, it now appears that his Kurdish Democratic party will once again fall under western influence. This would eliminate gains made recently by Saddam Hussein, and would mean that a single Kurdish faction would have almost complete control of northern Iraq.
