How to end the fashion famine
Article Abstract:
It has been fashionable since the 1960s to use thin models in advertising, but over recent years this has been taken to extremes, with some models appearing to look very unwell. This has prompted protests from a number of sources, and most recently watch company Omega temporarily withdrew its advertising from Vogue magazine, which has often used extremely thin models. It is now time for images of very thin models to be rejected, thus ensuring that they are not perceived as an ideal by many women.

End of our love affair with the car?
Article Abstract:
Recent incidents where people have been attacked, or in a few cases even killed, as a result of disputes between drivers are an indication that the car has negative aspects of which people have until recently been largely unaware. The car has for many years been viewed positively as a means of giving individuals a high level of freedom. However, it is being increasingly seen as the root of many problems of everyday life, including pollution, traffic congestion and accidents.
