Mystery of the stones decays and dies
Article Abstract:
Stonehenge has traditionally attracted people who value its ancient links with the worship of the sun and the stars, but police action during recent years to exclude such people, particularly during the time of the summer solstice, has led to far fewer of these people visiting the site. Instead, it has simply become another tourist attraction, with 672,000 people paying to enter the site in 1994. It is now time to reconsider its role, perhaps taking steps to recreate links with its original purpose.
