Grobbelaar and his 'game of three halves.'
Article Abstract:
Former Liverpool football club goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar has won his libel case against the Sun newspaper, which had alleged that he took bribes to influence the outcome of matches. He was awarded 85,000 pounds sterling in damages and his legal costs of 400,000 pounds sterling. The Sun intends to appeal. Grobbelaar claims that he was trapped by the Sun while innocently seeking to obtain evidence of corruption by Chris Vincent, who was paid 33,660 pounds sterling by the newspaper.
