Harry Brewster

Writer Harry Brewster was mainly educated at home in Florence, Italy. He read English at Magdalen College, Oxford, England, and became a police officer in Kenya before returning to the UK in 1946. He worked as part of the Allied commission administering Berlin, Germany, and as an attache at the British Embassy in Rome, Italy. He then returned to Florence to look after the family villa. During this time, he devoted much of his attention to writing and photography, but did not really establish himself as an author until the 1990s.

Andrew Osmond
Article Abstract:
Writer Andrew Osmond joined the diplomatic service in 1962. While serving in the Foreign Office in Rome, Italy, he met Douglas Hurd, and they decided to co-write political thrillers. 'The Smile on the Face of the Tiger' and 'Scotch on the Rocks' were very successful, and this prompted Osmond to establish his own career as a writer. He worked at Private Eye magazine until 1974, when he again collaborated with Hurd to produce 'War Without Frontiers.' He later helped to found Company Writers.

George Bull
Article Abstract:
Writer, translator and consultant George Bull was born in London, England, in 1929. He studied History at Brasenose College, Oxford, England, and became a reporter on the Financial Times. He moved to The Director in 1960.
