Has Canary Wharf tried to fly too high?
Article Abstract:
The Canary Wharf development in London, England, seems to be performing well at present, with almost complete occupation and three buildings under construction. However, some observers have expressed fears that Canary Wharf may begin to experience difficulties if demand for office space declines, particularly in the light of the global financial crisis affecting investment banks. Canary Wharf offers significant advantages, including low rents and large floor plates, but these are most effective in a very strong bull market, when banks seek greenfield sites where they can purchase a building almost fully fitted out.

Charles fails the test for constructive criticism
Article Abstract:
Prince Charles had nothing positive to say when he opened the new Waterside office development for British Airways near Heathrow Airport, England. He is well known for his dislike of modern architecture, and seemed more interested in the surroundings than in the building itself. The building is in fact very interesting, being conceived in the form of a global village. Architect Niels Torp has managed to present modernism in an interesting way, and has brought the outdoors inside to produce a friendly space.
