Article Abstract:
There has been tension recently on the British-owned South Atlantic island of St Helena. Two councillors have resigned in protest at the island's subsidy being reduced from 3.7 million pounds sterling to 3.2 million pounds sterling, and Governor David Smallwood has been the subject of protests. St Helena, one of 14 small dependencies still owned by the UK, has a very limited economy, and unemployment has risen dramatically over recent years, reaching 18%. Similar problems are being seen in other dependencies.

Oh what fun it is to have Christmas every day
Article Abstract:
Celebrating Christmas throughout the year does not rob the festival of its meaning, according to Andy Park, who never takes down his Christmas tree or Christmas decorations. He eats Christmas food all year round, and often invites friends and neighbours to Christmas parties, even in the middle of summer. He sees the real Christmas period as a time of rest, and prefers not to dwell on the negative aspects of this time.
