Heaney's bog? Greeks don't have a word for it
Article Abstract:
There are considerable similarities between Greece and Ireland, according to Greek poet Katerina Angelakhi-Rooke. In both countries, young people are forced to move from rural areas to cities in order to find employment. However, there are conceptual differences in language between the two countries, as she discovered when she translated poems by Seamus Heaney. Greece now has a considerable number of women poets, but most must make a living by translating.

Professor George Forrest
Article Abstract:
Ancient historian George Forrest was greatly admired for his deep knowledge of sources. He wrote about many aspects of Greek history, and taught Greek at Wadham College, Oxford, England, from 1951. He was very influential in the study of Delphic history, and focused on people, rather than ideas. He believed that Greek democracy came about by accident, rather than being designed, and encouraged students to look critically at everything.
