Heat, dust and a woman with a New York view
Article Abstract:
Novelist Ruth Prawer Jhabvala has lived in Manhattan since 1975 when she left Delhi to get the Booker Prize with Heat And Dust. Since then she has won Oscars for the film scripts of A Room With A View and Howards End. She also wrote Poet And Dancer, her first novel for six years. One of the themes running thorough her work is people's inability to avoid their fate or change their essential characteristics. She does the writing for film makers Ismail Merchant - James Ivory and is very good at recognising literature that can make a good film. She has been with this team for 32 years and written more than 12 screenplays for them. She disregards even famous authors' text and strips it down into implicit versions.

Dust, glory and hamburger fumes
Article Abstract:
Formula Ford racing is open to amateurs and is not exorbitantly expensive. This form of single-seater racing has existed since 1967. The cars look like Grand Prix cars but are less powerful. They have obsolete Ford engines and tube-steel chassis. A team costs 80,000 pounds sterling to run for a season. Sponsors help with costs and drivers race as a hobby. Some drivers aim to move up to Formula Three, Formula 3000, Formula One and Grand Prix.
