Hazarding a guess at technological success
Article Abstract:
It is extremely difficult to predict whether new technologies will be successful. However, it seems likely that the most successful new technologies will be those that are able to supply information, allow people to save or fill in time, or both. New technologies must also allow people to obtain the same product or service at a lower price. However, it is important to remember that almost every new technology that has been introduced has been used in different applications from the one for which it was originally intended.

Beware of jumping on the Internet bandwagon
Article Abstract:
It is clear that the Internet is expanding rapidly, but it is very hard to predict exactly which areas of Internet business will grow most quickly. Similarly, the future of Internet stocks, hardly any of which are currently making money, remains uncertain. Stock market trends seem to be indicating that owning the system that links people through mobile phones will remain extremely valuable. Furthermore, owning the customer list of an Internet portal could also prove very valuable.
