Common sense 'will win Britain back for us.'
Article Abstract:
UK Conservative party leader William Hague indicated in his main address to the party's 1999 annual conference that a common sense revolution is required, eliminating the arrogant and interfering approach of the current government. He stated that ordinary Britons wish to live in an independent country with its own currency, as reflected in the outcome of the European elections earlier in 1999. He promised that a future Conservative government would reduce the size of the Cabinet and campaign for a European Parliament of fewer members.

Megalomedia movie slowdown
Article Abstract:
Megalomedia warned on 27 August 1998 that profits for the six months to end-September 1998 and over the 12 months to March 1999 would be impacted by the slump in the erratic movie industry. The digital effects and computer animation business, which is based in London, expects a market fall in the interim, with improved trading over the second half. Megalomedia's Framestore and Forward Publishing division are strong performers at present but the film special effects division, CFC, has seen orders decline.
