How a nod and a wink changed a writer's life for ever
Article Abstract:
The challenges associated with learning to be a film director are described. A director must deal with a very wide range of problems, and can often spend 15 hours a day moving from one difficulty to the next. This is very different from being a writer, which is a very lonely profession. Directors must learn to negotiate with their colleagues, seek opinions from others and know when to take risks. However, directing can be very liberating and beneficial for the individual's self-confidence.

Article Abstract:
'Wings of Courage,' which is currently being previewed in New York, is the first dramatic film ever made in the Imax format. It has extremely highly developed special effects, which are viewed through special goggles. These contain liquid crystal lenses which are triggered by infra-red signals to open and close very quickly. This makes the brain see two distinct images as a single three-dimensional one. There is also '3-D sound,' as the goggles contain speakers.
