How do you fence a Titian?
Article Abstract:
Some observers have claimed that there are links between three recent incidents in which works of art were stolen from country houses, possibly on the orders of an art lover looking to expand a secret collection. However, others believe that a connection cannot be established. Some of the works will be disposed of relatively easily, but the Titian and the Rembrant will be immediately recognised if an attempt is made to sell them openly. Burglars who take valuable works of art are probably completely unaware of what they are getting involved, and have been misled by television into thinking that they can become extremely rich.

Art is for the street-wise
Article Abstract:
Many people visit the auction houses, clothes shops and antiques markets in London's Bond Street, but fail to realise that it is also home to more important art galleries than any other street in Europe. Its galleries do not contain as high a proportion of masterpieces as the National Gallery, for example, but their pictures are constantly changing, offering a new source of interest for the visitor. Galleries include Agnew's, Christopher Wood and Colnaghi's.
