In quest of cutrounds, chudleighs and the perfect cream tea
Article Abstract:
The county of Devon, England, is famous for its cream teas. However, it is actually very hard to obtain a cream tea which corresponds to local residents' ideas of how a cream tea should be. Almost everywhere, cafes serve cream teas which simply meet tourists' expectations and often contain food not actually produced in Devon itself. Production of clotted cream, for example, is now dominated by large dairies, and few local farmers make clotted cream any more.
