In the shadow of mysterious forces
Article Abstract:
Hip-hop artist Josh Davis, generally known as DJ Shadow, never regarded hip-hop as merely a fashion or a way to get in with an influential group of people. His main inspiration was 'The Message,' a rap hit performed by Grandmaster Flash. He worked extremely hard to absorb hip-hop culture, but believes that it was right that he had to experience a form of pilgrimage. He spends a great deal of time searching for obscure hip-hop music of the past to inspire new directions in his own music.
