Internet Rxs cause safety, ethics uproar
Article Abstract:
Pharmacists, physicians and government agencies have expressed concern over the ease by which prescriptions can be procured through the Internet. The American Druggist magazine visited websites which offered prescription drugs similar to Viagra, and then ordered the drug through thepillbox.com. The drug was delivered within a week without the need to see a physician or pharmacist. The problem with Internet prescriptions is that no government agency, including the FDA, has the authority to regulate online prescription activities.
