Irene Hervey

Actress Irene Hervey was coached by veteran actress Emma Dunn. She made a successful screen test at MGM, and made her film debut in 1933 in 'The Stranger's Return.' She was featured in two Pete Smith shorts in 1934, and played the starring role in the 1935 film 'A Thrill for Thelma.' She was signed by Universal shortly after her marriage to Allan Jones in Jul 1936, and subsequently appeared in around seven films a year. She was seriously injured in a car crash in 1943, and was forced to retire for five years.

Ruth Roman
Article Abstract:
Actress Ruth Roman had little formal education, but gained a scholarship to the Bishop Lee Dramatic School. She subsequently worked with the New England Repertory Co before seeking work in Hollywood, CA. She played many small parts in the mid-1940s, while her first leading role was in the Universal serial 'Jungle Queen' in 1945. Her breakthrough came with the 1949 film 'Champion,' after which she gained a contract with Warner Bros.
