It hit me that living with a woman was a genuine alternative. It was absolutely terrifying
Article Abstract:
It was very frightening to realize that it was really possible to live with another woman, according to crime-writer Val McDermid. She was not really aware of lesbianism until she was at university, when she formed a relationship with another woman. She found that her friends were very accepting of her lesbianism, but it was very difficult for her to discuss lesbianism openly with her parents. She wants her writing to reflect the world she lives in, not just her lesbianism.

Playing the blues brought joy into my life
Article Abstract:
Blues guitarist Buddy Guy grew up in very poor circumstances, but he believes that he never regarded music as a way of improving himself. He feels that he learned to play the guitar for the love of music, rather than for the love of money. He has lived his life in the same way as some of the best people who ever played blues music, and feels that he now has a responsibility to perpetuate their memory. He believes that he is still learning about himself every day.

The trials of life with an agony aunt
Article Abstract:
Living with someone who is an expert on relationships, such as a marriage guidance counsellor, can present particular difficulties. It can be tempting for the professional to test new ideas on his or her personal relationship, and this can alienate the partner. In some cases, the professional brings work problems home, and this can also cause problems. Being a professional does not mean that there are never conflicts within a personal relationship.
