Educating Janet
Article Abstract:
A mature student studying part-time for a BA in English studies discusses her initial reservations about embarking upon part-time study at the age of almost 50. Her relief at the positive reaction from the university to which she applied and from her friends is detailed, and early problems are recalled. The sense of awakening she experienced as the course material began to be addressed is explained, and her particular interest in her elective subject, cultural studies, is detailed.
