Jean de Lipkowski

Diplomat and politician Jean-Noel de Lipkowski came from a family with a distinguished record of patriotism. He entered the diplomatic service, but was also attracted to politics. He was one of the founders of the Centre de Reforme Republicaine in 1958, and in 1968 became Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. He became an experienced diplomatic traveller, and was greatly valued for his in-depth knowledge on many issues.

Sir James Cable
Article Abstract:
Diplomat and writer James Cable was born in 1920. He studied at Corpus Christi College, Cambridgem, England, and served in the Royal Signals during the second world war. He joined the Diplomatic Service in 1947, serving in areas including South America and Eastern Europe.

Sir Philip Adams
Article Abstract:
Diplomat Philip Adams was born in Wellington, New Zealand, in 1915. He studied PPE at Christ Church, Oxford, England, and entered the Levant Consular Service in 1938. His first posting was as probationary Vice-Consul to Beirut, Lebanon.
