Time for some monkey business
Article Abstract:
Mike Hartley-Brewer and his partner Andrew Cottschalk, previously of the London Business School, coach high-level banking executives in negotiation skills. Mike was formerly a trouble shooter for an oil trading company. He believes negotiations concern power. Cooperative or conflictual situations can be mixed so win-lose and win-win strategies should both be used in relevant cases. Characters affect methods so trainees are encouraged to become more self-aware to manage their behaviour better.

They told me my child had no mind
Article Abstract:
Parents of mentally handicapped children often have to fight very hard to obtain the best possible care for their child, according to Judy Fryd, who founded the charity Mencap in 1946. Her own daughter, born in 1938, was autistic, but her condition was not recognised and she was not offered suitable education. Facilities for mentally handicapped children have improved a lot since that time, but there is still much progress to be made.
