KLA's ragged army imposes draft
Article Abstract:
The Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) is attempting to prevent young ethnic Albanian men leaving Kosovo, Yugoslavia. Many Kosovar men are willing to join the KLA to fight for Kosovo's independence, but they first wish to ensure that their women and children have safely left Kosovo. Others would prefer not to join the KLA, fearing that they will get killed. Some KLA soldiers are recruiting in Albania, but they do not wish this to become known, as they fear that this would make Albania a target for the Yugoslav army.

Serb border mine slaughters family
Article Abstract:
Several members of an ethnic Albanian family fleeing from Kosovo, Yugoslavia, were killed by an anti-tank mine laid by Yugoslav border guards on the Albanian border at Morini. The Serb authorities did not allow the surviving family members to recover the bodies. The survivors emphasize that there were no warnings that the road along which they were travelling had been mined. They are among 296,456 Kosovars to have crossed the border into Albania at this spot.
