Rabbi Immanuel Jakobovits was born in Konigsberg, Germany. He was sent to the UK when anti-Semitism grew during the 1930s, and became a Minister at the Brondesbury Synagogue in London, England, in 1941. He became a Minister of the South-East London Synagogue in 1944, moving to the Great Synagogue in 1947. He was appointed Chief Rabbi of Ireland in 1949, and was made Rabbi of the Fifth Avenue Synagogue in New York, NY, in 1958. He was selected as Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the British Commonwealth in 1967, a position he retained until 1991.

Lord Craigmyle
Article Abstract:
Philanthropist Thomas Shaw became the third Lord Craigmyle on the death of his father in 1944. He took his seat in the House of Lords in 1945. He formed Craigmyle and Co, a fund-raising consultancy, in 1959, but was also extensively involved in charitable activities, mainly those connected with the Roman Catholic Church. He worked with the St John's Ambulance Brigade, was president of the St Thomas Fund for the Homeless and served on the board of management of the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth in London, England.

The Rev Lord Soper
Article Abstract:
Minister of the church Donald Soper first expressed a desire to become a Methodist minister while still at school. He studied History at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, England, and subsequent gained a First from Wesley House theological college. He established an open-air ministry, and rapidly became one of the best-known ministers in Methodism. He attracted many disciples, and became one of the great Christian apologists of the modern age.
