Monica Edwards
Article Abstract:
Writer Monica Edwards had a great love of the countryside and a strong sense of fun. Her first book, 'Wish for a Pony,' published in 1947, was written for her daughter. The characters in this book were to appear in a further 14 books. She mainly focused on the harsh details of ordinary farming life, rather than on an unreal world. After her children grew up, she turned to a different style, and wrote five autobiographical novels.
