Morris Kestelman
Article Abstract:
Artist Morris Kestelman gained a scholarship to the Central School of Art in London, England, in 1922. He studied drawing under Bernard Meninsky, with whom he later established a firm friendship. His connections with Meninsky led to his involvement in the avant-garde London Group. He developed a strong interest in French painting, and regularly visited France. He undertook further study at the Royal College of Art, and then began working on theatrical sets. He also taught art, eventually becoming Head of Painting and Sculpture at the Central School of Art from 1951 to 1971.

Carlos Nadal
Article Abstract:
Painter Carlos Nadal enrolled as a student of the School of Arts and Crafts in Barcelona, Spain, at the age of only 13, and in 1932 began studying at the Senior Fine Art Academy of St George in Barcelona. He continued his studies after spending some time in a concentration camp during the second world war, and his first one-man exhibition took place in Barcelona in 1942. He studied in Paris, France, after the second world war. He was in strong demand for exhibitions in Europe by the 1960s, but was little known in the UK.
