Motor City fights against fulfilling a death wish
Article Abstract:
Detroit, MI, once a bustling and prosperous city of the automobile revolution, is now run-down and running at an annual deficit of $30 million. People, money and jobs have been leaving the city for the suburbs, the city population almost halving from its previous level of almost two million. The city ombudsman Marie Farrell-Donaldson suggests that particularly bad parts of the city be closed down, fenced-off and services such as lighting, police and rubbish collection stopped. Residents would be rehoused. The life quality of those living in the particularly run-down areas is very bad indeed, with drug dealers and pimps abounding.

He has introduced initiatives which have reduced crime rates, and has cracked down on welfare fraud. He is now even going as far as to take action against the Mafia.
