Nanny may not know best, but she's cheap
Article Abstract:
There is great demand for highly skilled childcare, but people are often unwilling to pay the high costs which this inevitably entails. In many cases, those left in charge of children have very little actual experience of childcare, but it is assumed that they will somehow know instinctively what to do. Childcare is regarded as a menial task, when in fact it is among the most important jobs in a country's economy. Parents who seek the best childcare will have to be prepared to pay high rates. If they do not, then they cannot be guaranteed peace of mind.

A modernised monarchy? I don't think so - just look at poor Harry
Article Abstract:
It is hard to believe that a real modernization of the monarchy has taken place in the UK since the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. Efforts to bring the Royal Family closer to ordinary people have appeared very stilted, and it is clear that members of the Royal Family are still very distanced from everyday life. Members of the Royal Family differ from Diana, Princess of Wales, in that they are unable to make people feel that they understand something of their lives, even when their own lives are very different.

Just when you think you know someone
Article Abstract:
There have been many attempts recently to make soap operas appear more realistic. This has been seen particularly in the introduction of homosexual and lesbian characters, who are used to show that the plot is attempting to deal with real issues. Soap operas now tend to exploit the ambiguity between truth and fiction, and sometimes stretch the audience's credulity to its very limits. Viewers tend to give soap operas a reality which they very rarely possess.
