Witness for the prosecution
Article Abstract:
Microsoft's monopoly of the web browser market cannot be justified, according to Netscape Communications Pres and CEO Jim Barksdale. He is firmly committed to free enterprise and capitalism, and resents the fact that Microsoft is able to charge high prices because it has no competition. He hopes to be successful in his legal battle to prove that Microsoft is guilty of anti-competitive, monopolistic practice. He also feels that this case has much wider implications than simply determining leadership of the web browser market.

Extranet expectations
Article Abstract:
The extranet, a dedicated link that uses Internet technology to communicate between companies, has the potential to resolve many of the difficulties associated with traditional Electronic Data Interchange, especially the cost. The inexpensively constructed extranet can reach smaller players in the supply chain, and it is likely that there will be a substantial rise in the money transacted over extranets. However, the expansion of extranets could be hindered by concerns about security.
