Paul Dessau

Painter Paul Dessau showed artistic ability from an early age. He was apprenticed to a commercial studio, and then established his own commercial studio with his brother. He continued to paint and study, and started to exhibit at galleries in London, England. He joined the London Auxiliary Fire Service at the beginning of the second world war, and was a founding member of a firemen artists' committee.

Leslie Duxbury

Artist, teacher and writer Leslie Duxbury was born in Accrington, England, in 1921. He studied at Accrington School of Art and the Royal College of Art. He taught at establishments including Camberwell and Hammersmith schools of art.
