Actor, director and writer Bill Owen entered showbusiness as a holiday-camp entertainer. He made his stage debut in repertory in Cambridge, England, at the age of 19. He joined the Unity Theatre Co in 1939, and wrote and produced plays and revues over the next 13 years. He appeared many times on the West End stage in the 1940s and 1950s after making his West End debut at the Playhouse in 1943. In later years, he was most well known for his role in the television series 'Last of the Summer Wine.'

Joe Lynch

Actor and singer Joe Lynch was born in Mallow, Ireland, in 1925. He acted with the Cork Shakespearean Company while still at school, and later trained at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin, Ireland. He joined the Radio Eireann Repertory Company in 1947.
