Production
Article Abstract:
UK manufacturers place two SITC codes when producing fragrances, one for perfumes and the other for toilet waters. Generally, perfumes contains floral concentrates, essential oils, absolutes or mixtures of odiferous substances that are dissolved in highly concentrated alcohol. Toilet waters, such as eau de Cologne, consists of smaller amounts of essential oils in less concentrated alcohol. Other fragranced cosmetic and toiletries products such as personal deodorants and after-shave lotions fall into other classifications.

Packaging
Article Abstract:
Packaging in UK's women's fragrances market is given much importance by manufacturers. Fine fragrances usually receive an artistic packaging done in glass and board, while mass fragrances are generally packaged as eau de parfum or eau de toilette sprays in 15 ml, 30 ml and 50 ml sizes. Examples of fine fragrance packaging are Issey Miyake's Feu d'Issey, which is in a red spherical bottle produced from PTCA Waterclear and Channel No 5 in elegant glass.
