Professor Stuart Sutherland

Experimental psychologist and writer Stuart Sutherland read Classics at Oxford University, England, and then undertook National Service. He subsequently read Psychology and Philosophy at Oxford and spent two periods as a visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was the first Professor of Experimental Psychology at Sussex University, England. He suffered from manic depression in the 1970s, and wrote and spoke very openly about his experiences during this time.

Professor Roger Hardisty
Article Abstract:
Haematologist Roger Hardisty began his medical career at St Thomas's Hospital in London, England. He was later appointed to Great Ormond Street hospital, and in 1969 became the first professor of paediatric haematology in the UK. He gained a particularly strong reputation for his work on childhood leukaemia, which when he first began working at Great Ormond Street had a morality rate of 100%. By his retirement, up to 70% of patients were surviving.
