Rural retreat for the barking mad
Article Abstract:
The Bell Mead animal therapy centre in Berkshire, England, which has links with Battersea Dogs Home in London, England, treats animals with a range of psychological disorders. Some of them are unsure about their identity, while others are far too active. Those with the most serious disorders are treated by a behaviourist. Staff at the centre have devised a number of ways to ensure that the animals become more sociable and are able to deal with anxiety.

Comic books are for grown-ups
Article Abstract:
The comic series Sandman is like a film script but more detailed, according to cult author Neil Gaiman, who has also written children's books and the English language script for the Japanese animation 'Mononoke Hime.' He believes that writing good comics is more difficult than writing film, where many decisions are made by others. He is particularly proud of the graphical novel 'Mr Punch,' in which his text is mixed with Dave McKean's visuals.

The butler has a lot to answer for
Article Abstract:
Japanese-born writer Kazuo Ishiguro has attracted very mixed reactions from critics with his latest book, 'The Unconsoled.' He has won many literary prizes in the past, but remains modest, with a relaxed, humorous approach to life. His latest book breaks new ground, leading him away from the accessible, ordered world of his previous works. It is long, difficult to read and full of extreme dislocations.
