Self-made hero fails to deliver
Article Abstract:
Actor Kevin Costner became highly respected as a result of films like 'Dances With Wolves.' He gained a reputation for being prepared to take risks, for having strong instincts and for rejecting the views of pessimists. However, his career now seems to be fading fast. This has been seen in the very poor performance of 'The Postman.' This film was intended by Warner Brothers to be the key film for the Christmas 1997 season, but has only grossed $17 million so far. Some observers believe that Costner should return to the roles through which he first became popular.

It's what we call colourful language, Mr President
Article Abstract:
Considerable controversy surrounds the film 'Primary Colours,' which is to be released in summer 1998. This film is based on a Random House novel by an anonymous author which satirizes President Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign. The novel attracted a great deal of attention, selling more than 1 million copies. The book rights were purchased by film maker Mike Nicholas for a reported $1.5 million. Actor John Travolta, who plays Clinton, worked extremely hard to learn Clinton's accent and mannerisms.
