Serbs vow to stand firm in ghost city
Article Abstract:
The historic Danubian city of Vukovar is now in a very poor state, with many buildings crumbling away. The Bosnian Serbs are determined to stand firm there against the expected onslaught from five Croatian armoured brigades, although the city is now almost deserted, with only 20,000 Serbs and 1,000 Croats remaining out of a population of almost 50,000. Those who are still there are tense, knowing that they will have to face fighting soon.

Serbs smile as Britain wags its finger
Article Abstract:
The UK government is attempting to bring together the Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo, Yugoslavia. It has told both sides that there can be no military solution to their conflict, and has emphasized the need for negotiation. It seems that neither side is really taking the message being presented by the international community at all seriously. Against this background, there is little real prospect that they will abandon military action.
