Should you invest in...AIM stocks?
Article Abstract:
Many investors in the UK pay little attention to the Alternative Investment Market (AIM), which has seen a significant improvement in its performance since the beginning of 1999. Some observers believe that the AIM is now beginning to offer exciting potential for investors. The AIM Trust and Beacon Trust may be the best way for private investors to obtain exposure to AIM stocks, partly because they can be placed into an Individual Savings Account and partly because there are risks associated with picking individual shares.

Should you invest in ... healthcare?
Article Abstract:
Investors in the UK are generally less attracted to healthcare stocks than to those of pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies. The only major healthcare stocks are Smith & Nephew, Nycomed Amersham and SSL International. Investments in healthcare can be negatively affected by developments beyond the control of investors. This has been seen in the case of nursing home stocks, which have been exposed to changes in government policy.
