How to get our hands on Mr Nadir
Article Abstract:
Mr Asil Nadir jumped bail and returned to his native Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TNRC.) Britain does not recognise the TNRC so there is no extradition treaty. President Rauf Denktash offered court proceedings in the Turkish Cypriot courts, but that would require recognition of his administration. Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cyprus Alecos Michaelides suggests the UK should acknowledge TNRC violations of international agreements concerning trade, passports and air transport.
