Professor John Holloway
Article Abstract:
Poet and critic John Holloway read Modern Greats at New College, Oxford, England, taking a First in 1941. He served in the Royal Artillery and in Intelligence during the second world war, and became a Fellow of All Souls College, Oxford, in 1946. He was a Lecturer in English at Aberdeen University, Scotland, between 1949 and 1954, and in 1953 published 'The Victorian Sage.' He subsequently moved to Cambridge University, England, and in 1956 published his first book of poetry, 'The Minute.'

Roy McFadden
Article Abstract:
Poet, editor and lawyer Roy McFadden studied Law at Queen's University, Belfast, Northern Ireland, graduating in 1944. His first major publication was 'Swords and Ploughshares,' which appeared in 1943. This was followed in 1945 by 'Flowers for a Lady' and in 1947 by 'Heart's Townland.' He developed his legal practice in Belfast, and in 1945 founded literary magazine Lagan. His final collection, 'After Seymour's Funeral,' was published in 1990.
