The House that Alan and Leonard built
Article Abstract:
The London Symphony Orchestra is to perform 'A White House Cantata,' a symphony orchestra version of the musical '1600 Pennsylvania Avenue' by Leonard Bernstein and Alan Jay Lerner for the first time on Jul 8, 1997. The original stage musical, which was not at all successful, has now been re-scored for symphony orchestra with four main soloists and a virtuoso chorus in a piece which lasts 90 minutes. This is likely to be one of the most interesting elements in the London Symphony Orchestra's current season.

The sweet and sour times of Alan Sugar
Article Abstract:
Consumer electronics concern Amstrad, which is now to be broken up by its founder, Alan Sugar, played a very influential role in making information technology available to ordinary people. However, Sugar never managed to create a truly international brand, and was not able to transfer the brand successfully from one format to another. He has finally run out of ideas for investing money profitably, and has agreed to return 200 million pounds sterling to investors.
