Today's the day for peers to come to the aid of the little fish
Article Abstract:
The UK House of Lords is debating predatory pricing as part of its deliberations about amendments to the Competition Bill. The amendments would mean that predatory pricing would be defined as anti-competitive behaviour. It is difficult to tell what the outcome of the debate will be, but it is possible that the government will be defeated. This would also be a defeat for Rupert Murdoch, who has used aggressive price-cutting to boost the circulation of The Times. It is now time for the UK to move towards a culture of supporting the pursuit of non-competitive behaviour.

Why go down to the gym today, when you could go down to the woods?
Article Abstract:
Dr William Bird from Sonning Common, England, has for some time been encouraging patients to take more exercise. He has now linked with the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers to establish a scheme which will allow people to improve their fitness levels through undertaking environmental conservation work. Volunteers who participate in the Green Gym project will have their physical fitness assessed, and efforts will be made to establish whether work of this kind really does improve physical and mental fitness levels.
