The acid-tester of our vanities
Article Abstract:
Writer Tom Wolfe attracted considerable attention when 'The Bonfire of the Vanities,' his first novel, was published in 1987. He then seemed to fade into obscurity, but he was in fact working on his second novel, 'A Man in Full,' which is to be published on Nov 10, 1998. It is reported that this novel represents a significant step forward for Wolfe, and the novel will certainly sell in large numbers. Wolfe is reclusive, and cannot be easily categorized. He seems to be set apart from the modern era, even though he is a first rate commentator on modern US society.

What am I bid for the redhead (34B-25-36)?
Article Abstract:
Fashion photographer Ron Harris has set up a new World Wide Web site, www.ronsangels.com, offering the eggs of beautiful young models for sale. This site attracted 1.1 million hits on the first day. Harris believes that this site meets the needs of those who wish to improve their genetic offspring. The American Society of Reproductive Medicine has dismissed the site as unethical and distasteful. However, Harris anticipates strong interest, with bids for the eggs likely to exceed $150,000.
