Sky buys stake in Leeds as football becomes a game only fat cats play
Article Abstract:
BSkyB has acquired a stake of 9% in Leeds United soccer club. The company also holds a stake of 11% in Machester United soccer club and is acquiring small stakes in major Premiership clubs in England. Analysts see these investments as important for broadcasters. Soccer clubs own TV rights which look set to grow, and there are already some soccer club TV channels such as Manchester United TV. You couldn't make it up. But the TV producers did
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly clear that some television documentaries shown in the UK contain scenes that have been faked. Documentary producers generally feel that staging some action is necessary to move the story along. However, some producers go further than this, and the boundaries between truth and fiction start to become blurred. In some cases, parts of the documentary are faked because the producer is under strong pressure to attract large audiences.
